Asthma Attack



Asthma attack is a chronic inflammatory condition with reversible airways obstruction.Asthma attack is characterized by recurrent episodes of wheezing,often with cough,which respond to treatment with bronchodilators and anti-inflammatory drugs.Antibiotics should be given for asthma attack only when there are signs of pneumonia.On examination of asthma attack may include hyperinflation of the chest,lower chest wall indrawing,prolonged expiration with audible wheeze,absence of fever,and reduce air intake when obstruction is severe.(WHO)
